Michael Van Woodruff, 76, of York Town Ind., formerly of Beechmont passed away Thursday, June 8th, 2023, at home. Born April 30th, 1947 in Greenville along with his twin sister, Pat. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1965. Mike received his Purple Heart while serving in the Vietnam War as a Marine. He was a warehouse supervisor at Gibraltar Mines. He was also an industrial tool salesman for Rice Supply company, and Ingersoll Rand. Mike was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maggie Woodruff, brothers Robert Neil and Jimmy Woodruff , his son, Steven Woodruff , and his nephew Mike Sullivan.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Woodruff of Yorktown, Ind.; daughter, Georgia Mills of Greenville; grandchildren, Jeanette Lanoire of Louisville, Mariah Lanoire of Greenville, Makayla (Reid) Vaught of Owensboro; two great granddaughters, Makenlee and Oaklynn Vaught, and his twin sister, Pat (Ozzie) Sullivan of Greenville. He was cherished by several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life service will be held at Second Baptist Church in Greenville on Saturday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Mike donated his body to IU medical school to aid in Research of mesothelioma cancer.
