GREENVILLE – James E. “Bro. Jimmy” Watkins, 63, of Greenville, died Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 3:59 p.m. at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. Born January 8, 1961 in Greenville. “Bro. Jimmy” has pastored Macedonia Baptist Church in Rosewood, New Paradise Baptist Church in Greenville, Pond River Baptist Church in Hopkins County, White Plains Baptist Church in White Plains, Station Baptist Church in Sacramento, Huntsville Baptist Church in Huntsville, and Friendship Baptist Church in Greenville. He was Master of the Pond River Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He was employed by Four Seasons Outdoor as a small engine mechanic. He loved working magic on challenging engine issues and talking with all the customers. The true love of his, was preaching the good news of Jesus Christ, and his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse B. Watkins; mother, Jewel Watkins; brother, Donnie B. Watkins; and sister, Judy Childers.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Rhonda Stewart Watkins; children, James Brandon (Mandy) Watkins; Michael Stewart (Emma) Watkins; and his pride and joy grandchildren, James “Isaac”, Madyson, and Aryanna.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Tim Adcock officiating. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m.-1 p,m, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com
