GREENVILLE – Gerald Dean Dukes, 91, of Greenville, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 7:28 a.m. at Maple Health and Rehab in Greenville. Born June 28, 1932 in Muhlenberg County. He was a member of Leigh’s Chapel General Baptist Church, worked as a Mason and a Coal Miner, and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed being with family, going coon hunting with his coon dogs, going out to eat, and collecting guns, boots, and belt buckles. He also loved his two grand-dogs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Joyce Dukes; parents, Linville and Bunny Dukes; and children, Gerald Keith Dukes, and Elaine Dukes.
Survivors include his daughters, Sherland Joyce Clark, and Teresa Gail (Chuck) Cobb; grandchildren, Mark Clark, Kayla (Wayne) Horn, and Jessica (Bart) Ford; great-grandchildren, Addison Clark, Axton Horn, Abbey Bartimus, Joel Ford, and Olivia Ford; great-great-grandchildren, Elsie Jo Bartimus; soon-to-be, Adley Clark; sister, Doris West; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 10, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Roger Wright officiating. Burial in Old Jackson Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from11 a.m. -1 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com
