Inez Mercer Daniel

GREENVILLE – Inez Mercer Daniel, 100, of Greenville, died Monday, April 22, 2024, at Bayley Place in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Born December 21, 1923, in Greenville to Virgie and Jack Mercer.  After graduating from Graham High School in 1943, Inez and her sister, Marie, were sent by their parents to a Business School in Nashville.  Inez came back with a degree in Bookkeeping and worked in Greenville for a coal company until her marriage in September 1944 to Navy Hospital Corpsman, Dan Daniel.  Inez became a Navy wife and a stay-at-home mother to their three children until 1963 when she went back to work as a bookkeeper to help put her children through college.

Inez always stayed up-to-date on current local and national events and local and national politics.  She built a very healthy financial portfolio.  She was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and UK basketball and football (especially since her great-grandson, Jackson Schulz, is a member of the current football team).  She was a member of New Cypress Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville.
