CENTRAL CITY – Carla Marnita Taylor, 62, of Central City, gained her wings Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. Born December 9, 1961 in Muhlenberg County. She always wanted to be a school teacher. After graduating high school, she attended Murray State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree. She worked for the Muhlenberg County School systems for 31 years. Carla loved and served in her church, Wesley Chapel A.M.E Zion Church in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mable Cartwright.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, John Taylor; three daughters, Briahna Shanice Taylor of Clarksville, Tenn., Adrianne Browning of Bowling Green, Mary Scott of Louisville; one son John Taylor, Jr. of Calabasas, Calif.; brother Jerry Reed of Drakesboro; one sister, Regina Reed of Drakesboro; five granddaughters; one niece ; two nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Greenville with Eulogy by Rev. Batavi Combs and Rev. Glenda McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m.-1P p.m.at the church. Online condolences may be made at the funeral home.
