Truman “Dale” Woodruff, 87, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022. Born August 12, 1934 in Beech Creek, he grew up in Muhlenburg County and graduated from Drakesboro High School where he excelled at basketball and baseball. Dale owned and operated several full service gas stations, co-owned D&D Auto Service, and was owner/operator of Dale’s Auto Service before retiring. His hobbies included Bowling, coaching little league baseball and men’s softball, hunting and fishing. He attended Evansville United Christian Fellowship Church. Dale had a love for gospel music and had a love for discussing God’s word with family. He had a deep love for his family. His door was always open to family and friends alike, and anyone in need. Dale was a true Good Samaritan and a man of great integrity. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Grace (Nelson) Woodruff; parents, Mildred and Truman “Bill” Woodruff; and brother, Allen “Dean” Woodruff.
Survivors include his son, Gregory Lynn Woodruff (Belinda); daughters, Freida “Jody” Hayden (Eddie), Tammy Sue Klassy (Roger E.), and Rebecca Ann Williamson (Kevin); grandchildren, Krystal Woodruff, Clint Woodruff, Summerr Ziegler (Adam), Zachary Woodruff (Julie), Ollivia Odom (Jacob), Derrick Hayden (Adina), John Hayden (Cassidy), Kyle Hayden (Sara), Magan Lynch (Kelly John), Josh Hayden (Dorise), Harlan Hayden Gorman, Nathan Klassy (Brittni), Jonathan Klassy (Hannah), Brooke Nuckols, Nathan Fisher, and Meg Krack; and 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Gilbreth (Benny), Janie Lovell (the late, John), and Donna Mofley (James); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Alexander East Chapel in Evansville Ind. with Pastor Roger Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Bremen. Friends may visit on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
