GREENVILLE – Washington Thomas “W.T.” Bivins, 85, of Greenville, died Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 8:21A a.m. at his residence. Born August 28, 1938, in Muhlenberg County. He was a welder for Cimarron Coal Co., and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. He was also a successful entrepreneur, and an avid trap shooter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernie and Louise Bivins; wife, Sylvia Bivins; sister, Wilma Epley; brother, Albert Bivins; and son, Richard Bivins.
Survivors include his sons, John (Kathy) Bivins of Central City and Michael (Lisa) Bivins of Georgia; companion and friend, Patsy Patton; beloved niece and caregiver, Faith (Tony) Cary of Alvaton; sister, Brenda Bush of Greenville; brother, Michael (Helen) Bivins of Greenville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Rev. E.W. Greenwalt officiating, assisted by Rev. Jerry Eades. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
