MEMPHIS, TN – Rosa Lea Porter, 86, of Memphis, Tenn., died peacefully on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Allenbrooke Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born October 19, 1934, she worked in the food service industry and was a dedicated member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis for 31 years. After she retired, she enjoyed volunteering, helping others, and doing arts/crafts. She was involved in Sunday School, their senior ministry and prayer ministry. For many years, she was the coordinator of their church bus route and made sure the seniors and those with disabilities were picked up each week to attend worship services. She was dedicated to her family and faith. She was the daughter of the late Harrison and Bell Burden of Muhlenberg County.
Survived include her sister, Marlyn (James) Renfrow; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family would like to extend special thanks to Ms. Rena Rosenberg and her team with ElderCare Consultants, LLC, in Memphis, Tenn. for assisting and caring for Mrs. Porter for the past 18 years. The family also sends special thanks to Bellevue Baptist Church, Rev. Joe Jernigan, and the many other ministers who loved and cared for Mrs. Porter.
Graveside services will be Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Union Chapel General Baptist Church cemetery with Pastor Robert Lindsay officiating.
