Robert Earl Richey, 73, of Greenville, died Friday, April 30, 2021 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born May 25, 1947 in Muhlenberg County, the son of Homer Richey and Anna Mae Harper Richey. He was a member of Richardson Chapel General Baptist Church and he was a welder having worked in copper mines in Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Jean Lee and Judy Graham.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Mary Evelyn Brown Richey of Greenville; sons, Marty Richey of Arizona and Brian Richey of Madisonville; daughter, Melissa Richey of Arizona; six grandchildren; brothers, Homer Richey, Jr. of White Plains, Delbert Richey of Grand Rivers, Curtis Richey of Greenville and Larry Richey of Graham.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 7 at 12:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, with Rev. Fred Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville. Friends and family attending will be required to wear facial coverings and to observe social distancing.
