MORGANFIELD – Mary Lou Smith, 77, of Morganfield, died Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 2:25 a.m. at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, Ind. Born July 3, 1946 in Muhlenberg County, she was a Homemaker and a member of Sturgis Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy T. Smith; sister Olivia Miller; and parents Joe Bill and Violet Pointer.
Survivors include her five children Terry G. (Amanda) Smith of Morganfield, Tammy L. Smith of Henderson, William Earl (Cheryl) Smith of Morganfield, John D. Smith of Morganfield, and Jonathan Smith of Morganfield; grandchildren Devin Smith, Hillary Smith, Justin Brown, Marci Porter, Kathleen Smith, Brittany Smith, and Nicholas Smith; great-grandchildren Ariana Porter, Keyla Porter, Noah Porter, Addlee Smith, Annslee Smith, Alexander Herbare, Elizabeth Jade Herbare, Gabriel Herbare, Amilia Moran, and Ryan Moran.
Funeral services are Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Matthew Thrower officiating. Burial will follow in Old Jackson Cemetery.
