Chanelle Denice Bowman, 51, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born January 17, 1970 in the 313th Tactical Hospital, Forbes Airbase, Topeka, Kansas. She was a correctional officer at the Green River Correctional Center in Central City. She graduated, from Greenville High School as a Black Hawk in 1988 and continued her educational endeavors by attending Kentucky State and Western Kentucky University. She was preceded in death by her brother, Scooty Bowman; four uncles and two aunts. In addition, Chanelle professed Christ at the early age of nine and became a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville. She was an active member serving in the capacity of Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director, Usher Board Matron and Culinary Committee.
Survivors include her daughter; Amanda Pollard of Greenville; parents, Lawrence Edward Bowman and Patricia Bowman of Greenville; sister, Kortny Bowman of Louisville; nephew, Patrick Bowman of Greenville; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 11, 2022 , at 1:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville with Rev. John C. Lee III, Officiating and Rev. Terrence Minor, Eulogist. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the church. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery in Greenville. Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville, is in charge of arrangements.
