DRAKESBORO – Vernon William Richardson, 90 of Drakesboro died Monday, February 26, 2024 at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford, KY. Born July 1, 1933 in Todd County. He was an Underground Coal Miner for 42 years, loved to rabbit hunt and the outdoors. He loved his family and friends, and loved helping them any way he could. He was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, served in the U.S. Army and was a Mason. He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle L. Dukes; grandmother, Mollie Frances Richardson; his first wife Anna Lorene Richardson; step-grandson, Weston Ford and brother Billy Dukes.
Survivors include his wife Pauletta Richardson of Greenville for 27 years; son, Jeff (Mae) Richardson; daughters, Faye Roberson, and Beverly (Jeff) Mayes; stepson, Ronnie (Judy) Hill; stepdaughters, Paula (Charlie) Hare, Brenda Pullian, Debbie Hill, and Sandy (Mike) Jackson; grandchildren, Brent (Amanda) Roberson, Kim (Ryan) Schiefelbein, Nicole (Leif) Robinson, Justin (Kasey) Richardson, Jennifer (Derrick) Cobb, and Katie (Josh) Manuel; step-grandkids, Joseph (Ashlyn) Eubanks, Jessica (Beau) Bivin, Alex (Pia) Hare, Mitchell Hare, Michael Shanks, Thomas (Amanda) Shanks, John Paul Shanks, Timmy Bolling, Jessica (Jarrod) Elliott, Fawne (Ron) Metheny, Megan (Cliff) Cisco; Eight great-grandchildren;17 step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Tommy Dukes of Powderly.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Drakesboro with Bro. Fred Harrison officiating. Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8PM at the church and Saturday after 8AM. Masonic Visitation Rights will start at 6PM on Friday. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
