Greenville – Phyllis Boyd, 75, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, November 30 , 2021 at the Maple Health and Rehab in Greenville. Born May 11, 1946, she was formerly a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Depoy where she served as Church Clerk for approx. 48 years and was a member of Browder Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Browder serving on the Mother’s Board. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claudean Boyd; son, Darren Tyrone Boyd; mother, Jessie Lee Hawkins Bard; father, William Emmanuel Bard; seven brothers, Warren Bard, John Bard, Russell Bard, Clarence Bard, Claude Bard, Roger Bard and Larry Bard; two sisters, Elaine Goins and Imogene Phipps.
Survivors include her daughters, Deana Hocker and Alisha Boyd, both of Greenville; grandson, Derrick Talley of Owensboro; sister, Rita Tidwell of Depoy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 12 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Old Unity Cemetery in Graham with Rev. Terrence Minor, Officiating and The Rev. Dr. Michael A. Powell, Eulogist. Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
