Pauline H. Sullivan, 92, of Newburgh, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. Born March 1, 1930 in Old Hickory, Tenn. to the late Arthur and Vernie (Throneberry) Hammers. Pauline worked as a sewing machine operator in apparel manufacturing for 25 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, who adored her family and loved spending time with them. Pauline will be remembered for her quick witty sense of humor and big heart. She will be dearly missed by her family. Pauline was of the Baptist in faith. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Sullivan in 1993; twin brother, Paul Hammers; sisters, Helen Hammers, Emma Lee Mcwhorter, Vivian Pogue and Mary Jo Bailey.
Survivors include her daughters, Jane (Roger) Fleming of Evansville and Leesa (Rusty) Gardner of Lenoir City, Tenn.; grandchildren, Bryan (Krista) Fleming and Vanessa (Angelo) Ruehmkorff, both of Evansville, Renita (Brent) Phelps of Bowling Green, Brent (Monica) Gardner of Temple, Texas, and Eleese (Andrew) Whitehead of Lebanon, Tenn.; eight great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Fernandez of Evansville; nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2022 at the Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, Kentucky. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rochester Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 146, Rochester, Kentucky 42273. Ziemer Funeral Home in Evansville was in charge of arrangements.
