Miles Austin Lynn, 92, of Greenville, died Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. Born January 8, 1928 in Union County, the son of Norris Edward “Pat” Lynn and Sophia Elizabeth Denny Lynn. He worked for Ashland Oil as a pumper for 18 years, owned and operated Lynn’s Ashland in Greenville, worked for Brown Badgett Coal Company, and worked for Clarence Brewer, Sr. until he was 75 years old. He was a member of Roland Memorial Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Hawaii, and he was a member of Pond River Lodge #244. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 64 years Dorothy Gene Jackson Lynn in 2013, and a son Bobby Austin Lynn in 2018.
Graveside funeral services will be private and will be conducted with military honors at Woodland Cemetery by Rev. Danny Mooneyhan. Gary’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include son, Garry Wayne (Scarlett) Lynn of Greenville; daughter, Linda Sue Grace of Greenville; grandchildren, Brandon Lynn (Susan) Grace of Greenville, Emily Kaye (Clain) Hendrix of Versailles, Randa Nell (Jason) Brumfield of Greenville, Garry Dewayne (Britny) Lynn of Greenville, Coby Lynn of Central City, Chad (Emily Jarvis of Beaver Dam and Chasity Jarvis of Central City; great grandchildren, Ryan Chase Hendrix, Ethan Bruce Hendrix, Jay Jarvis, Jacie Jarvis, Alyssa Jarvis, Andrew Heady, Jaxon Ray Jarvis, Grayson Lynn, Abigail Lynn; sister, Hattie (W.C.) Ritchie of Logansport, Ind.
