Lloyd Eugene Loney, 84, of Greenville, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at his residence. Born January 18, 1939 in Muhlenberg County, the son of William Darwin Loney and Juanita “Bill” Vincent Loney. He served in the US Army, stationed in Germany. One of his greatest pleasures was watching certain favorite TV shows—Gunsmoke, MASH, Hogan’s Heroes, and Andy Griffith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years Wanda Aileen Loney, a daughter Terri Loney a son-in-law Ronald Joe Rhoades, and three brothers Tommy Loney, Joe Loney, and Delbert Loney.
Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Rhoades of Greenville, and Rhonda (John) Doyle of Glasgow; grandchildren, Lora (Chris) Ellis, Kaila Anderson, Joshua Doyle and Hannah Doyle; great grandchildren, Lacy Ellis, Blake Ellis, and Madilyn Sova; brother-in-law, Hubert (Kay) Joines, Jr. of Greenville; sister-in-law, Claudia Loney of Huntsville, Ala, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville conducted by John Doyle. Burial will follow in Joines Chapel Cemetery in Greenville. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday, January 27 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.
