Mrs. Joreed McGehee, 99 of Muhlenberg County, passed away, Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her residence of natural causes. Born in Todd County September 26, 1921. She was a homemaker, farmer and a member of New Harmony General Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher, she also sang in the Todd County Choir, and was a member of Eastern Star where she was past Worthy Matron of the Madeline Chapter #64 in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her husband William Hazel McGehee in 2013, her parents Emmitt Lee Slaughter Sr and Euna Carnall Slaughter and her step mother Mable Heltsley Slaughter and her grandson William Lloyd “Bill” Tucker.
Survivors include her daughters Betty Smith of Madison, Tenn., Rebeccah Sue Tucker and Patricia Petrie both of Muhlenberg County, four grandchildren. 10 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday June 20, 2021 1:30 p.m. at New Harmony General Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Evitts and Chaplin Adam Bridgeman. officiating. Burial will follow in the Bivins-New Harmony Cemetery in Todd County.
