CENTRAL CITY – John S. “Squeaky” Blair, 75, of Central City, died Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 2:45 a.m. at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Born March 5, 1949 in Holmes Mill, Ky. He was a Retired Coal Miner and a U.S. Army Veteran. and a member of Greenbrier Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the Evarts High School Class of 1967. He loved going to church, talking about God, coal mining, and fishing. Besides fishing, he enjoyed riding around strip roads looking for deer, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandsons. He was preceded in death by his father, Alto Blair; mother, Nadine Blair; brother, Alfonso Blair; sister, Betty Smith; and nephew, Jr. Blair.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Carolyn W. Blair; one son, Kelley Michael (Jeri) Blair of Beechmont; two grandchildren, Tanner Blair of Beechmont, and Austin (Melody) Blair of Bowling Green; two brothers, Roy (Amanda) Blair of Rose Hill, Va. and Jerry Blair of Holmes Mill, Ky; and a number of nieces and nephews that he loved spending time with.
Funeral services will be Saturday March 30, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Roger Reynolds officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
