HORSE BRANCH – Janice Hayes Himes, 87, of Horse Branch, died at 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. Born June 22, 1936 in Ohio County, she was a homemaker and a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Madisonville. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a pianist for the Green River Quartet and played for several churches she attended. She was a volunteer for several years at the Veterans Home in Hanson, KY. Her passions were playing piano, gardening, painting, friends, and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemon, and Roxie Wallace; husbands, Billy Gene Himes, and Royce Ranney Flener; and son, Terry Royce Flener.
Survivors include her sons, Terry Wade (Jodie) Flener, and Mark Wallace Flener; daughter, Karen (Dover) Halcomb; grandchildren, Seth Ranney (Alison) Flener, Kalyn (Arthur) Fisher, Dr. Megan Halcomb, Jarred Halcomb, Adam (Bridgett) Chinn, and Cody Chinn; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday July 1, 2023 at 10:00A a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Don Mathis officiating and Bro. Doc Crowe assisting.
