James Garland Toomey, 90 of Olmstead, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Creekwood Place in Russellville. Born Friday, January 8, 1932, the son of the late Hobert Toomey, Sr. and the late Mildred Williams Toomey. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Insco Toomey. He was a self-employed rock and lime hauler and a member of New Hope General Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by sisters, Rosie Bell Wallace and Wilda Jean Pearson; brothers, JD Toomey, Raymond Toomey, Hobert McKinley Toomey, Jr., Harold Toomey and Jerry Toomey.
Survivors include his daughter, Janie Davis of Olmstead and brother, Lindel Toomey of Greenville..
Funeral services were held Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Price Funeral Home, Inc. in Lewisburg with Pastor William Sofield officiating. Burial followed in Toomey Cemetery.
