Helen Yvonne Evans, 84, of Greenville, died Friday, June 2, 2023 at her residence. Born October 18, 1938 in Grayson County, the daughter of Shelby Higgs and Lulua Woosley. She was of the Baptist faith and was a housewife and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russell Evans, three sons Boyd Evans, Arnold Evans, and Eddie Evans, and one sister Hazel King.
Survivors include a daughter, Della Rose Teddleton of Weir; sons, Floyd Evans of Powderly, Ernest Evans of Madisonville, Gorden Evans of Poke, Fla., Evan Evans of Beaver Dam, and Marvin Evans of Manitou; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Oscar Higgs of Caneyville.
Graveside services will be Saturday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Liberty Church Cemetery in Morgantown, with Bro David Fall officiating. Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
