BOWLING GREEN – Helen Leon Brand, 91, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 6:16 a.m. at Christian Health Care in Bowling Green. Born July 21, 1932 in Muhlenberg County, she graduated from the Central City High School Class of 1950, was a Co-owner of Brand Corner Drugs for 35 years, and was a member of Mt. Sion Assembly of Central City. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Orvil Brand Jr.; and parents, Clifford and Marie Deason.
Survivors include her sister Ruth Higgs of Central City; brothers Forest Deason, and Jerry (Lavonda) Deason both of Central City; sons Michael Brand of Bowling Green, Kim Brand (Teresa) of Bowling Green; grandchildren Joshua (Angela) Brand of Lexington, Stephanie (Nathan) Bryant of Central City, Ashley (David) McDaniel of Alabama, and Aaron (Kayla) Brand of Alabama; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City with Bro. Forest Deason officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
