Freddie Clay Smith, Jr., 55, of Central City, died Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. Born June 3, 1966 in Ohio County, the son of Freddie Clay Smith, Sr. and Mary Alice Griffin Groves. He was the maintenance manager at Willow Creek Mobile Home Park. He attended the Cathedral of Hope Church in Greenville. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Misty Dawn Shemwell Smith of Central City; daughter, April Brothers of White Plains; mother, Mary Alice Groves of Central City; step-mother, Janetta Smith of Central City; two grandchildren; brothers, Billy Smith of Central City and Dustin Smith of Bremen; sisters, Jane Smith of South Carrollton, Sherry Neal of Central City, Renae Drake of Drakesboro, Denisha Stanley of Greenville, and Christina Christman of Camden, Tenn.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Monday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. At his request, Freddie will rest in his favorite fishing hole. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9 at the funeral home until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
