Flora Bell Gibson, 92, of Morton’s Gap died Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Ridgewood Nursing Home in Madisonville. Born May 11, 1930 in Muhlenberg County, the daughter of Henry Thomas Majors and Raine Groves Majors. She was a member of White Plains Holiness Church and she retired from Ford Motor Company as a factory worker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Gilbert Brown, her second husband Huston Vanvactor, and her third husband Grover Cleveland Gibson, a son Lyndel “Bud” Ray, a daughter Jean Brown Ward, a daughter-in-law Barbara Ann Jones Brown, one sister Hallie Majors Humphrey, and three brothers Fount Majors, Orville Majors, and Jesse Majors.
Survivors include a son, Gilbert Lee Brown of Dawson Springs; four granddaughters; 10 great grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, with Rev. Howard Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Yeargin’s Chapel Cemetery in Graham. Visitation will be Friday, March 3 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home.
