GREENVILLE—Edward Lynn Wade, 83, of Greenville, died on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born February 14, 1941, in Graham, the son of Archie Bailey Wade and Francis Lucille Bethel Wade. He was a member of Greenville First Baptist Church for 63 years, and was a deacon and deacon chairman for much of that time, also serving on many committees including the Care and Crisis Committee. He worked for TVA for 30 years and retired as a shift supervisor. Eddie had a passionate love for golf all of his life and was still playing in November of last year. His children and grandchildren were the loves of his life and he loved spending time with the whole family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Shirley Black and Carolyn Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Greenville with Rev. John Galyen officiating, assisted by Bro. Richard Parsons. A private burial will be in Carter Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family after 10:00 a.m. on April 9 at First Baptist Church until time of the funeral. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years—-Brenda Wade of Greenville; three daughters——Susan (Richard) Parsons of Greenville, Marianne (David) Hopewell of Louisville, and Jackie (Wendell) Flener of Bremen; eight grandchildren, Emily (Kyle) Jett, Ben (Holli) Parsons, Erica (Brandon) Parsons, Audrey Hopewell, Zoe Hopewell, D. J. Hopewell, Rebekah (Kirk) Luckett, Maggie Flener; 10 great grandchildren——–Bralynn, Isaac, Ezra, Abel, Silas, Micah, Isaiah, Nellie, Rylee, Crosby; one sister, Judy Cunningham of White Plains.
