David Wayne Jernigan, 76, of Indianola, Miss. died Thursday, July 21, 2022. Born April 9, 1946, the son of the late Freeman Jernigan and the late Cordie Johnson. He was a 1966 graduate of Greenville High School, was retired from the U. S. Steel Mill Company in Gary, Ind. and was a member of Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Indianola.
Survivors include his wife, Selena Freeman-Jernigan; brothers, Ben Pritchett of Philadelphia, Pa., Jolly Jernigan and Douglas W. Jernigan both of Drakesboro; sisters, Pat Martin of Greenville and Ann Elliot of Louisville along with a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Matthews officiating. Burial followed in Riverside Memorial Gardens in Indianola.
Byas Funeral Home in Indianola, Miss. was in charge of arrangements.
