DRAKESBORO – Darrell Ray Smith, Sr., 66, of Drakesboro, died Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. Born September 14, 1955, in Muhlenberg County, he was a Diesel Mechanic for Johnson Trucking, for 30 years. He enjoyed bass fishing, being with his family, but he especially loved bass fishing with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Louise Smith; and grandbaby, Justin Griffin.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Marlene Epley Smith; children, Darrell Ray (Tasha) Smith, Jr., Joseph Matthew Smith, and Jennifer Smith; grandchildren, Alexis Smith, Hannah Griffin, Abigail Griffin, Kyler Smith, and Justice Smith; great-grandchildren, Panellope Durall; sister, Bertha Piper; brothers, Roger Smith, Bobby Smith, and Danny Smith.
