BEECHMONT – Wayne Mathew (Bubba, Hoss) Cartwright, 70, of Beechmont, died Monday, January 9, 2023, at 11:30 p.m. at Riverside Nursing and Rehab in Calhoun. Born November 9, 1952, in Greenville, he was a retired coal miner with Highland Coal Mine, and a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. Cartwright and Christine Mann Greenwood; and sisters, Zelda Mae Burden and Glenda Sue Stogner.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Metheny Cartwright; daughter, Kera “Beth” (Kurt) Miller; granddaughter, Nadia (Gwen) Hamilton-Benton; brother, Thurman (Shirley) Grundy; sisters, Martha Jane Judd, Maxine (Mike) Woodburn, and Anna Marie Covington; special friend he thought of like a brother, Harlan (Shirley) Boyken; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Tony Boyken officiating. Visitation will be Thursday after 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
