GREENVILLE – Tommie Loretta Rose, 86, of Greenville, died Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born November 30, 1933, in Harlan County. She was a self-employed homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Her favorite hobbies were sewing, flowers, and cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Rose; daughters Carolyn Sampson, Pam Prince, and Kim Gardner; parents Earl and Virgal English; grandchild Jarrett Prince; brother Bobby English; and sister Linda Goings.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat Pendley of Central City; sons Sonny (Barbara) Rose, Jeff (Nydia) Rose, and Tim Rose, all of Central City; sister Betty Jarvis; grandchildren Paul Rose, Jason Rose, Keisha Griffin, Kristina Jones, Tiffany Byrne, Sara Rose, Krystal Stone, Chris Gardner, and Jerry Hayes; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 4, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Matt McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday after 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends who are attending the visitation or funeral service are asked to wear a face mask for the safety of all those in attendance, in accordance with the governor’s mandate.
