POWDERLY – Nancy Pentecost, age 84, of Owensboro, formerly of Powderly, died Thursday, March 14th, 2024, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Born August 4th, 1939, in Muhlenberg County where she resided till August of 2011. She was a graduate of Muhlenberg Central High School and retired from Dame Sewing Factory. After retirement, she began housekeeping for her dear friends J.& A. Stovall. She was a member of Lead Hill United Methodist Church. She was a very loving and caring daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She always took care of the ones she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Irene Tarrants; her siblings, Bob (Laverne) Tarrants, Louise (Morris) McGehee, Edward Tarrants, John Tarrants, and Dilbert Tarrants.
Survivors include her daughter, Valerie (Edward) Gilmore; grandsons Layton Gilmore and Logan Gilmore; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Jaylee, and Leo Gilmore; sisters-in-law, Ann Tarrants and Lena
Tarrants; and many nieces & nephews who she loved dearly.
A memorial and celebration of Nancy’s life will be held Sunday, March 24th, 2024, at 2:00 p. m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Brother Larry Shadowen officiating.
