Johnny Carol Martin

GREENVILLE – Johnny Carol Martin, 83, of Greenville died Friday, November 11, 2022 at 2:00 a.m., at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville. Born December 24, 1938 in Webster County, he retired from Peabody Coal and was a United States Army veteran, as well as a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his mules, and riding, but he mostly loved spending time with his precious family. He attended the Sikeston Rodeo for 52 consecutive years. He also loved to goose hunt and duck hunt. “Honker-Hunter” became his nickname. Everyone also came to know him as their personal “On-star” because he was so good at giving directions. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny, and Dixie Martin; and son, Michael Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy McDonald Martin; children, Kay (James) Brumfield of North Carolina; Carol (Tony) Blake; Steve (Amanda) Martin, Troy (Patricia) Martin; Brent (Olivia) McDonald, and Jason Carol Martin; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Doug (Charlotte) Martin of New Mexico and Jerry (Linda) Martin of Madisonville.
