CENTRAL CITY – Helene Blake, 81, of Central City, passed away surrounded by family Friday, February 4, 2022. Born July 19, 1940, in Martwick, to the late William Albert Ray and Gertrude Ray. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Roosevelt Blake, her siblings, an infant brother who passed away at birth and sisters, Venita Hoops and Doris Jean Gregory.
She was a homemaker fueled by God, Mic Ultra, cuss words, an unfiltered sense of humor, and a love for keeping her family on their toes. Her hobbies included pitching washers, bowling, binge watching Joe Kenda on the ID channel, and an equal love for the Golden Girls.
She leaves behind a few smart mouthed kids who inherited her colorful character and witty sense of humor, Carol Banes Burden, Buddy Blake, Pamela Blake, and Becky Blake; grandkids, Misty Banes, Aaron Garner, Ashley Garner, Kori Van Hook, Kandice Benson, Liam Kelly, Kari Avery, Dylan Avery, Zella Avery, and Jameson Blake; seven great-grandkids, Dalton Green, Kalyn Ward, Abby Van Hook, Layla Van Hook, Hunter Garner, Jaxon Garner, and Waylon Faith. All of her Grands were her pride and joy!
We know that she is in Heaven enjoying her slice of cheesecake with her Golden Girls!
