Barbara Ellen Richards, 74, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville. Born December 5, 1948 in Muhlenberg County, the daughter of Shelby Lee Jones and Nettie Middleton Jones. She worked for Trane Company in Clarksville, for 28 years, and she was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church in Clarksville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John W. Richards, a daughter Penny Ellen McGhee, four brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Barry McGhee and Dan McGhee both of Lewisburg; step-sons, Bobby Richards and David Richards both of Cedar Hill, Tenn.; grandchildren, Haley McGhee, Carley McGhee, Emma McGhee, and Will McGhee; step-grandchildren, Casey Richards, Quentin Richards, and Sarah Beth Richards; several great-grandchildren; brothers, C. W. Jones of Hopkinsville, and Wayne Jones of Edwardsville, Ill.; sister, Sue Nell Costello of Greenville.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Frankie Lee Skipworth, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 18 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Greenville.
