BELTON – Catherine Janette Hester, 88, of Belton, died Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro. Born December 23, 1934 in Luka, Miss. and was a homemaker. Janette loved talking to people wherever she encountered them, always responding with quick wit and a sharp sense of humor. She loved all things nature and most animals were drawn to her. She was an active Girl Scout volunteer and a champion Avon Salesperson, also involved in numerous charity organizations. She was a member of South Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church in Tishomingo, Miss., and her main priority was her faith in her Lord Jesus, and then her family and country. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rachel Moore; husband, Joseph Hester; brothers, James Moore, Jr., Jerry Moore, and three infant brothers; sister, Sadie Svien; grandson, Joel Joines; and nephew, Mike Moore.
Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Newman of Browder, and Kimberly McDonald of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; grandchildren, Toby Joines and Benjamin Kyle Wise; great-grandchildren, Evan Joines, Cheyenne Joines, Devin Joines, Savanna Mason, Jace Carter Wise, Jayden Gaither Wise, and Benjamin Chance Wise; and several beloved nieces, Diane, Debbie, Denise, Donna, Dorothy, Jeanne, and Barb.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Haire officiating. Burial will be Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. in South Crossroads Cemetery in Tishomingo, Miss. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Beechmont.
