CENTRAL CITY – Sharon Lee Smith, 81, of Central City, died Monday, June 3, 2024, at 7:16 p.m. at her residence. Born March 17, 1943, in Greenville, Ohio. She was a member of Nelson Pentecostal Church and a records specialist at University of Dayton. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, baking and cooking, and reading. Mrs. Smith was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a very kind and loving person, who was always willing to help others any way she could. She was preceded in death by her mother, Retha Wanedith Leopard; father, Howard Leroy Leopard; and husband, Earl Smith.
Survivors include her children, Anthony Smith and Retha (Steve) Reed; grandchildren, Jonathan Reed, David (Andrea) Reed, Elizabeth (Danny) Wallace, Steven Michael (Summar) Reed, and Andrew (Chantal) Reed; and great-grandchildren, Joey, Daniel, Carter, A’nasia, Connor, Makayla, Joshua, Daniel, Braiden, Caine, Damani, Alex, and Caycen; sister, Sandy Hearne; step-daughter, Vanessa (Robert) Egnor; step-grandchildren, Robert (Adrian) Egnor, Tia (Brian) Donatelli, Elijah (Jennifer) Egnor; step-great-grandchildren, Phillip, Aeryk, Matthew, Gideon, Asher, and Elora.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 10, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Nelson Pentecostal Church, with Bro. Paul Uzzle, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Monday after 4:00 p.m. at the church. Graveside funeral services will be Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Isaacs Family Cemetery in Rock Castle County, KY. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the cemetery.
