DRAKESBORO – Eddie Lee Brake Sr., 36, of Drakesboro passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Ind. Born April 2, 1987, in Madisonville, to Eddie and Mary Brake. Eddie Lee was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.
Eddie Lee attended Muhlenberg South High School and later pursued a career as a Deputy Jailer #1421 at Muhlenberg County Detention Center. He was dedicated to his work and served his community with integrity. In his free time, he enjoyed various hobbies such as deer hunting, rabbit hunting, fishing, working on hot rods, and trading. He especially cherished the moments spent in his garage with his dad and his son, creating memories that will be cherished forever. He was a member of Union General Baptist Church, where he found solace and strength in his faith.
Eddie Lee was preceded in death by his Papaw Oscar Allen; his Mamaw Margaret Allen; grandfather Deward (Doodle) Brake; grandmother Catherine Carnithan; his uncles Danny Joe Carnithan and Vester Brake; his father-in-law Bruce Crick, and three Angel Babies.
Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, Kristy Brake; son Eddie Lee Brake Jr.; mother Mary Brake; father Eddie Brake. He will be deeply missed by his sisters Misty Hambrick (Robert), Stephanie Gish (Mikey), Abby Carnithan, and Johnna Carnithan. He was a cherished uncle to his nephews, Jason Hambrick (Kayla) and Cameron Gish. Eddie Lee also leaves behind his uncles, Oscar Allen (Teresa) and Tex Allen (Tammy), aunts Brenda Robinson (Jerry), Mary Oates (Timmy) as well as his mother-in-law, Faye Crick, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Robert Lindsay officiating and Bro. Randy Sallee assisting. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
