Bennie Whitmer, 80, of Alexandria, formerly of Bremen, passed away October 29, 2021 at River Valley Nursing Home surrounded by his family. He was the son of Edward and Sally (Stovall) Whitmer. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from MHSA as a federal mine inspector. He was a member of Bremen Lodge #596. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister; Jean Revlette and brother; Edward Thomas Jr and several half brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Kaye (Grissom) Whitmer; son Benjamin “BJ” Whitmer; daughter, Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Billy) Vincent; brother Don Whitmer of Bremen and sister, Joyce Martin of Evansville, Ind; grandchildren Hannah and Noah Vincent; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is being held at First Baptist Church of Cold Spring, 4410 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076 on November 19th, 2021 at 1 p.m. Cooper Funeral Home is serving the family.
