GREENVILLE – Forest Earl Sherrod, 88, of Greenville, died Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Greenville Nursing & Rehab. Born October 2, 1933, in Hopkins County. He was a retired coal miner with Amax Coal Company, and was also a truck driver and farmer. He was a member of Vernal Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Sherrod and Allie Jessup Sherrod; daughter, Libby Cobb; and sisters, Lillie Etta Sherrod, Barbara Hunt, and Sissy Johnston.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Elnora Groves Sherrod; son, Brent (Tammy) Sherrod; daughters, Susan (Danny) Edwards and Loretta (Lonnie) Drake; son-in-law, Frankie Cobb; grandchildren, Scotty Cobb, Derrick Cobb, Jeremy Cobb, Shannon Sherrod, Jordan Sherrod, Brent Sherrod II, Dannielle Gillon, and Ethan McIntosh; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Nick Holeman officiating. Burial will follow in Greens Chapel Cemetery.
