GREENVILLE–Randall Truitt Smith, 69, of Greenville, died Thursday, June 6, 2024 at his residence. Born July 14, 1954 in Greenville, the son of the late Curvan Truitt Smith and Wanda Lavern Mefford Smith. He retired from Kentucky Utilities in 2001 after 25 years as a service technician. After retirement, he became a self-employed electrician. He graduated from Western Kentucky University with one Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and one in History, after attending for two years at Northern KY University where he was on the Golf Team. He was a member and a deacon at Greenville First Baptist Church. He was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan and loved hiking and backpacking in the Smoky Mountains. He loved his granddogs Gracie and Gator.
Funeral services will be private at a later date and there will be no visitation. Gary’s Funeral Home is entrusted with Mr. Smith’s care.
Surviivors include his wife of 48 years Pamela Jean Smith of Greenville; son, Brian (Priya) Smith of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Michelle (Rob) Cone of Prattville, Ala.; two granddaughters, Katie Cone and Shelby Cone; sister, Christal (Mike) Rowland of Alexandria, Ky.; two brothers, Ronnie Smith of Huntsville, Ky. and Gregory (Julia) Smith of Amelia, Ohio.
