Gaithel Norman Richey

GREENVILLE – Gaithel Norman Richey, 89, of Greenville, died Friday, May 7, 2021 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital.  Born November 29, 1931 in Muhlenberg County, he was a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force, a retired coal miner and a member of Woodson Missionary Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife Marian June Richey and son Norman Richey.

Survivors include his daughters Linda Gilchrest and Randy Dietzel, Toni (Ken) Walton; grandchildren Sarah Russell, Rebecca Walton, Jennifer Walton and Christopher Walton; six great grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Terry Chaney officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powderly with military honors.  Visitation will be Sunday, May 9, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Family and friends are asked to wear a face covering, in accordance with the governor’s mandate. In compliance with health and public safety directives, capacity will be limited based upon current state guidelines. Online condolences can be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com
