GREENVILLE – Winnie Jean Gossett, of Graham, died Saturday, March 22, 2025 at her residence. Born in Muhlenberg County December 14, 1931, the daughter of Volla Thomas Chaney and Hazel Dale Matheney Chaney. She was a teacher’s aide, working in the Muhlenberg County School System at Graham School for 30 years. She was a member of Corley Chapel Baptist Church and was a great fan of University of Kentucky basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 42 years Don Gossett in 1992, her son Barry Don Gossett, her brother Charles Chaney, and sister Barbara Chaney.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville officiated by Rev. Tom Stovall. Burial will follow in Graham Hill Cemetery in Graham.
Survivors include a son, Roger Gossett of Derby, Kans.; daughters, Ellen Gossett of Greenville and Kimberly (Steve) Durall of Greenville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Chaney of Henderson.
Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26 and continue until time of funeral at 1:00 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home.
