CLEATON – Willie H. Parker Jr., 79, of Cleaton, passed away peacefully at 11:12 p.m. Tuesday May 14, 2024 at his residence, he was a native of Brownie, KY. Born to the late Willie H. Parker Sr. and Lucille Green Parker on August 2, 1944. He was baptized at an early age at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Cleaton and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Drakesboro. Willie was an employee of Peabody Coal Company before starting his career in law enforcement. He was sworn in as a “Special Deputy Sheriff” under Robert L. Draper in the 1970s. He continued his law enforcement career until 2018. He attended several classes and received numerous certificates. In 1974 he was accepted by the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a commissioned Kentucky Colonel. In 1975 he received a certificate for completion of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council Breathalyzer 2000 Seminar. In 1977 he was issued a certificate the Medal and Citation of Recognition from the American Police Service for honorably and faithfully service in law enforcement for a period of five years for American police service. In 1982 he received a certificate as a member of the National Rifle Association of America. In 1988 he received a certificate of Law Enforcement officers training school in Applied Criminology. In 1989 he became a Commonwealth of Kentucky Notary Public. In 1989 and 1993 he was sworn in as a Commonwealth of Kentucky County of Muhlenberg Constable District One. In 2004 he received a Certificate of Recognition for faithful service from Friendship Baptist Church in April of 2004. He was a longtime support staffer with Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville, where he started in the 1970s. He loved watching Western Movies, Game Shows, and Cartoons. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by four sisters Emma Sue Parker, Earlene Williams, Geraldine Rhodes, and Carrie Parker.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories one son Willie “Blake” Parker of Murray, ; two daughters Nora Parker of Madisonville and Brooklyn Parker of Murray; and several children he raised Eric Shaw, Brandon Shaw, Chance Wing, Te’yon Wing, Brittany Wing, Trabonne Wing, and Constance Fulkner; one sister Georgia Ann Walton of Greenville; two grandchildren he raised Dakota Shaw and Aleila Shaw; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His life will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 25, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church in Drakesboro. The Reverend Reginald Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in West End Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation and wake services will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
