GREENVILLE- William L. “Bubo” Garris, 88, of Greenville, died Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born November 4, 1934 in Muhlenberg County, he was a farmer, coal miner, did custom work, and loved fishing, and he loved the Lord. Mr. Garris was a member of and a Deacon for many years at Bards Hill General Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Fairy Garris; wife, Earline Garris; sister, Edith Williams; son-in-law, Darrell Lear; great grandson, Walter Crowe Lear.
Survivors include his daughter, Maletha Lear of Greenville; son, Randy (Robbie) Garris of Greenville; grandchildren, Quentin (Elyssa) Lear of Greenville, Shawn (Sharon) Garris of Hopkinsville and Brandy Jones; step-grandchildren, Jill Wood, and Eric Wood; great grandchildren, Jaxson Lear, Corbin Lear, Alisha Garris, R.J. Garris, William Jones, Aliyah Jones, and Teanna Hollis; two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Mary and Donald Williams of Greenville, and Evelyn Williams of Graham; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Bards Hill General Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Vernal Grove Cemetery in Greenville.
