GREENVILLE — William Dotson Beadnell (Billy), 77, passed away on Wednesday, May 27th, 2026 at Riverside Manor Health and Rehab in Calhoun, KY. He was born on December 29th, 1948. He graduated from Graham High School in 1966 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. He worked as an underground coal miner for more than 30 years as a pinner. He was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed spending his free time fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dotson and Ann Beadnell.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30th, at 2:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY, officiated by Bro. George Wunderlich. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Greenville KY with military honors.
He is survived by his of 28 years wife — Novella Sue Beadnell
Son — Bill Beadnell
Step-son — Dewayne Mercer
Daughter — Tammye Gaunce
Five grandchildren — Taylor Gaunce, Preston Gaunce, Blake Mercer,
Kaleigh Mercer, and Bryson Mercer
Great-granddaughter — Halen Mercer
Brother — Jimmy (Karen) Beadnell
Brother-in-law — Cleon McGehee
Three sisters — Betty Ann Sumner, Linda Groves, and Lisa (Mark) Vincent
Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a lot of great friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 30th at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville from 10:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM.
