Whit “Ole Hog” Bolton, 71, of Greenville, KY passed away on June 14, 2026 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with his wife by his side.
Per Whit Bolton’s request, there will not be a memorial service held. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Crofton is assisting the family.
A native of Memphis, TN he was born September 16, 1954 the son of the late Bob Bolton and Rosemere Bolton. He spent 40 years of his life as a riverboat captain. In his free time, he enjoyed rooting for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team and tending to his garden. Hunting was his passion, however, and he was an avid duck and deer hunter throughout his life. Whit Bolton was always a very generous and giving person, even in death he donated his own organs to individuals in need through Network for Hope.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Clark Bolton.
He is survived by his wife: Alisa Bolton Owens of Greenville, KY; his sister: Susan (Mike) Mahaffey of Memphis, TN; his sons: Bob Bolton of Olive Branch, MS and Whit Bolton of Hoxie, AK; his step children: Amelia (Darren) Bowen, Emely (Jeff) Stewart, and Jeremiah (Kristen) Hinson; his six grandchildren; his six step grandchildren; his three step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to any of the following: Owensboro Regional Hospital Hospitality Suites, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or Wounded Warriors.
