Waymon Lee “Snuffy” Brooks, 81 of Greenville, died Saturday, February 6, 2021 at his home following a lengthy illness. Born May 17, 1939 in Muhlenberg County, the son of the late Buren Walter Brooks and Hilda Marie Brooks. He was a member of Jernigan’s Chapel Methodist Church. He was a farmer all of his life. He worked for Greenville Log and Lumber until his retirement. He was known for selling produce at the flea market and at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Linda Garrett.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Wilma Jean Boatwright Brooks of Greenville; children, Stacy Sumner and Jason Brooks both of Greenville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Owen Dal Brooks, Marvin Brooks and Milford Brooks all of Greenville.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from Gary’s Funeral Home by Reverend Steve Latham, with burial to follow in Jernigan’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
