ISLAND – Vennie Owen Edmonds, 73, of Island, died Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 7:22 p.m. under the care of Hospice of Western KY in Owensboro. Born October 6, 1950 in Kansas City, Mo. Vennie enjoyed a good game of chess and jewelry making, but his personal “prize-winning” favorite was fishing. He worked most of his life as a laborer doing masonry and electrical work. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Faye Neal Edmonds; father, O.V. Edmonds; and brother, Larry Edmonds.
Survivors include his children, Kim (Jeff) Vincent, Maria (Jonathan) Dortch, and Brandon (Cassie) Edmonds; grandchildren, Katie (Jacob) Lee, Alec Winters, Spencer (Grace) Winters, and Summer Edmonds; great-grandchildren, Braelynn Lee, and Addilynn Lee; and brothers, Lanny (Diane) Edmonds, and Cliff Gabbard; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with Rev. Bobby Lott officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. -12 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com
