Thomas Wayne Quisenberry, 79, passed from this life Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Gateway Deaconess Hospital in Newburgh Ind., following a short illness. Born February 16, 1944 to the late James & Pauline Quisenberry, he served as a minister in the Church of Christ for 46 years & was very passionate in his love of Jesus Christ & leading others to him. He retired from Peabody Coal Company & earlier in his Career worked on a team of fabricators that built casings for atomic bombs for the United States Army.
In his younger years, he enjoyed basketball & fishing, which he greatly enjoyed sharing with his son Clayton. Thomas loved spending time with the family pets – MarleyBob, Jackie Blue, & Music. When Thomas was not studying the Bible, he was planning his next trip with his wife Maymie to see their son Clayton in Concert.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Maymie LaDon (Lewis) Quisenberry; one son Clayton Thomas Quisenberry; two brothers Larry Quisenberry and David Quisenberry, both of Greenville; one sister Nancy Evitts of Madisonville, and several nieces & nephews.
Tommy, as he was known by family & friends, had not one enemy. His light shined on everyone he spoke to, he never met a stranger. Everyone who came to know him felt his energy & he always wore a smile.
Please join Maymie & Clayton, Family & friends, to Celebrate his life with a memorial service on Saturday November 4, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Joe B’s Event venue located at 201 Court Row in Greenville KY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in person or the GoFundMe.com page titled “Memorial for Clayton’s Dad”.
Thomas held church in his home for the last 25 years & on the afternoon in Sunday October 8th, he sang his last song in church service “Hand in Hand with Jesus”, and we are confident the he is walking hand in hand with Jesus right now. His last wards were to his son: Clayton had said to his dad “Love you dad”, in which Tommy replied “Love you buddy”. What a Blessing that so many sons don’t receive.
