DRAKESBORO – Thomas Phillip Grey, 85, of Drakesboro, died Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn., with his daughters by his side. Born November 26, 1939 in Joplin, Mo. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 66 years, Bonnie Grey; his parents A. Duane and Mary Hargrove Grey; brothers Duane Grey, Wayne Grey, William (Bill) Grey, Stephen Grey; and sister Jean Grey Whited.
Phillip built industrial chimneys across the USA, including Paradise, and even one in South Africa. His work ethic, knowledge and drive were admired by many. After retiring he consulted on new and upcoming industrial chimneys. He could give you traveling directions across the United States just by memory. Phillip loved to work on home projects and always had a Diet Coke in hand. He loved his family and was always willing to help them with any projects that they might have and shared his construction skills with everyone. Phillip had a vast collection of old western movies and was an avid NASCAR fan. He attended 1st Baptist Church of Drakesboro with his family when he was able.
Survivors include his daughters Sherri Miller and Kerri Pryor; four grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren one great-great granddaughter; Sisters Marguerite Grey and Beth Malter.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Drakesboro with Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.
