CLEATON – Thelma Louise Cain, 86, of Cleaton, entered into rest Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. Born June 27, 1938 in Greenville. Her parents were Santo and Eva Mae Duncan.
Mother Cain was a faithful, dedicated and oldest member of the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cleaton, previously serving on the Mother’s Board, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary, Choir Member, a member of the Church Missionary Board and Director of the Children’s Choir. Mother Cain was employed by Sanitary Cleaners in Central City, KY for Aprox. 32 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Cain, daughter, Rev. Joanne Cain, three brothers, Melvin, Richard and June; two sisters, Lillian and Clara; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Cain.
She loved cross-word puzzles, Hall Mark movies, Judge Judy, game shows and family gatherings.
Survivors include her five sons, Donnie (Marilyn) Cain, Columbus, Georgia, James (Doreen) Cain of Greenville, Duncan Cain of Owensboro, Jeffrey Cain, Central City and Justin ( Ashley ) Cain, Owensboro; four daughters, Jackie Cain, Cleaton, Madeline (Robert) Phillips, Lexington, Paulette Cain, Central City and Kristi Cain, Central City; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles ( Lauretta) Allen, Paducah; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 990 Holt Road, Cleaton, KY with visitation from 11-1 p.m. at the church until time of service. Burial will be in West End Cemetery, Greenville, KY. Rev. Jerrell M. Clark, Eulogist.
